Music Monday

I found this girl some time back. She is from Germany & she is 15 years old
I LOVE LOVE LOVE her covers. She always sounds amazing. This is one of her own....

lyrics:
Verse 1:
I got up later than before
Dont know whats going on
So many things changed at all
Verse 2 :
The door is closed
No way to leave
But how , how did I get here?

PreChorus:
There will be better days
You said to me
When I was lying there
Getting nothing in my head

Chrous:
What time is it and what day
Am I feeling bad or feeling better anyway
I can't say that I feel exactly the same
But at least whats my name??

Verse 3 :
Nobody knows how I feel
Nobody knows if its real
Or if I will loose this fight?
Verse 4:
You said you know how it is
Trust me nobody knows it
And nobody is disposed to die

Pre chorus
Chorus

But I am..yes I am stronger ..longer holding on.
Then I thought and Id won.

MilSpouse Friday Fill-In

  1. Aside from no deployments, what is one thing you would want to make the MilSpouse life “perfect”? Is there a such thing as "perfect"? I think not. As long as I am happy, my husband is happy, and our two sons are happy...and we are all healthy...then that is "perfect" enough for us.
  2. Just how many peppers did Peter Piper pick? Um...7? I hope it was a whoooooole lot since it was worth writing such a tongue twister about it.
  3. If you could have any career in the world with nothing holding you back, what would you do? ANY career? I would want to be a stay at home mom & wife. Unfortunately, when I am off of work, I stress about how I could be making money. grrr.
  4. Do you have a service oriented tattoo and if so what is it. If you don’t what would you get? I dont,  but I plan to get an Army Nurse Pin-Up girl tattooed on me someday. I love pin-ups..I'm a nurse (former Army)...and my husband is currently in the Army. I've been planning on getting this tattoo for a while now....its about time I just go and get it.
  5. Imagine a block of time has opened up in your busy day for you to take a class in anything you like. What subject would you choose?  DANCE! I love to dance...and I am horrible at it. If I could actually learn how to really dance...I would be all over it!!

A View From Fort Riley

I just took this picture from my back porch. It is so overcast outside...yet it is 63 degrees. The expected high is 74! I think this calls for a nap and a hope that the sun will shine through a little more this afternoon so that we can make a trip to the park!

The Sentsational Winner Is---

Our logo never smelled so good! Hang freely in cars, lockers and closets. Packed with fragrance, each will give you weeks of Scentsy wherever you go.

Be Sure To Check Out Glamour Glory's Blog! I met Reyna back in 2006 after we moved into the apartment right next door to her. When I came up to sign for my house this past December, we celebrated her Birthday...and took a few pictures so I would have something to blog about when I was back up and running...enjoy!

fyi - the Buckle bag was mine. I drove up 6 hours and was wearing slouchy, comfy clothes...and I had to go get something to wear for her birthday. See my DC's in the picture? I was wearing THE MOST UNCOMFORTABLE shoes ever!! But they are HOTT!! I had to buy them. And the jeans were new also...BKE (i think...) or Silvers? See, I am not meant to be a fashionista.... :)

Honey, I'm Home...With A MilSpouse Friday Fill-In

Well, we made it! We are living back at Fort Riley. Bruce will be home VERY soon! I got the call last night with the arrival time. Also, I got the job on-post as a Army Civilian Nurse!!! Wooo-Hooo! But, no better way to get back into the blogging spirit than a MilSpouse Friday Fill-In!

1. What is your favorite MilSpouse blog (not including Wife of a Sailor who we all love, or your own)?

This is HARD!! But I have to say Household 6 Diva!! She is an amazing blogger! I love how she has helped MilSpouse Bloggers join across the world.

2. What are your favorite perks about your s/o being deployed (we all know there are perks)?

Watching whatever I want! I am a reality TV fanatic. I never have to hear him say, "This is stupid." :) Though, I think that Kade likes it more, he just doesn't know it yet. There wont be as many cartoons when Daddy gets home!

3. How long did you date your before getting engaged? Married?

15 Months! We met October 2003. Got engaged July 2 2004. We got married Jan. 1, 2005!

4. What do you think your would do if s/he wasn’t in the military?

Um, I have no idea. I think we would try to be a professional hunter/fisher. One of the reasons he joined is because he had no idea what he wanted to do.

5. If you could talk to the Secretary of (fill in your appropriate branch) what is one suggestion you would like to bring to their attention in order to improve the lives of military families?

I'm on the spot. I feel pretty content with my MilLife right now...so no complaints at this very moment.

MIA

Hey Followers!! I am not MIA...I repeat, NOT MIA. I've been crrrrrazy busy. I'm currently sleeping on an air matress with my kids in a tanning room. Why, you ask? Well let me just tell you! I am stuck between Oklahoma and Kansas. But let's rewind a bit...

I drove to Kansas on December 28th to sign for out new house on Fort Riley. I can't leave out that we finally got the house on post that we wanted!!! I was early getting to Fort Riley, so I wasted some time at the PX and got some move in necessities....toilet paper and a Starbucks Grande Pepermint Mocha (yummo!). Then it was off the neighborhood office. As I was pulling into tge parking lot Bruce sent me a text saying we had orders. Freaking orders? We aren't even back on Riley yet!! Where to? Fort Sill, Freakin' Oklahoma!! Barf! But we won't report until July.

But the night ended well. I had signe for the new house and got to celebrate my friend Reyna @ Glamour Glory's birthday with her!

This wasnt before I had to stop by the mall and spent some Christmas money...and I bought these awesome new heels...

The next day I was back to Oklahoma to move out of my apartment. Which is why Im living in a tanning room. ••• I have moved everything into storage. I am waiting to get a job in Kansas before me and the boys move up. I have applied for a few positions as an Army Civilian Nurse (so cross those fingers & toes!). As soon as I get a job we are off. I can't wait BECAUSE....Bruce will re-deploy back to Kansas next month!!! Whoop Whoop!

Really the whole point of this post is to say, my computer is in storage and I am letting you know I not MIA. I almost forgot that I have blogger on my iPhone, so I will update y'all as often ad I can. I'm still working like crazy to get some $$ before I move.

I hope Santa was as good to you as he was to me and my family! Happy New Year!! I hope it's filled with a whole freakin' lot of peace, love, health and happiness!!!

Until next time...

- Britt.

Friday, December 17, 2010

I was, um, yeah, well...

Time for my excuses for the week....you know.....when its Friday and you look back and try to figure out exactly why you didn't complete everything on your to-do list.

I'll start with the Weekly Weigh In...

Problem: Stabbing Pains
Diagnosis: Severe Bladder Infection

So this would explain why I was running to the bathroom every hour over the weekend at work. And the stabbing pains were obviously bladder spasms(I could hardly stand up straight). DUH BRITTNEY, YOUR A FREAKING NURSE!! THIS IS WHY YOU'VE BEEN PEEING ON YOURSELF AT THE GYM!!

Needless to say, I was scares in the gym this week. I did go yesterday to attend a Zumba class and missed it. It was at 8:30 not 9:30 (I'll remember that on Monday). I did a little cardio, and attended the Ab Class as-well as the Buns & Thighs Class. I don't dare step on a scale this week. I was super lazy waiting on my Antibiotics to take over. Back full-force, with  a weigh in next week!!

30 Days of Truth...

I'm going to post the next 7 entries today! Promise. I was busy Monday finishing up Christmas shopping. Then the evil bladder infection made its full force appearance. Wednesday, I had to fill in for a school nurse. Thursday (yesterday?), I um....OH! I got a call first thing from Housing on Fort Riley. WE HAVE A HOUSE!! Last I heard (Tuesday), we were #197 on the list! How did this happen? I don't know and I don't care. We got actually, for the first time, got the house we wanted, in the neighborhood we wanted, and on the street we wanted!!! SA-WEET right?! Have you ever lived on post? What did you like/dislike the most?

General Blah-Blah-Blah Blogging..

Its coming, just wait...I'm getting ready to move AGAIN. Ah, there is a post topic right there, so I'll leave it alone. I proooomise there is more randomness coming soon!

So, if you talk to Santa, please tell him, I'm trying to do my best!

Have a Happy Friday and a Wonderful Weekend!

What is the best gift you have ever received or given?
When I was a child, it was a trampoline. Santa put it together right in my backyard and left a big red bow on it.  My most recent Christmas gift was Kyson...born just 1 week before.

Do you celebrate holidays differently when your loved one is deployed/gone or do you keep tradition?
We always follow the same routine. Christmas morning at my moms in Oklahoma & Christmas afternoon and the next few days with my husbands side of the family in Arkansas. This year, however, may be different. Bruce is deployed and I have to work on Christmas(they gave me off until noon, but I wont get off until 11pm). I'm still not sure where and when everything is going to happen. I guess I should try to figure this one out...

If you celebrate Christmas, do you put an angel, star or something else on the top of your tree?
I put a big bow on top with matching ribbon flowing down the tree. I love it! My mom always put an angel on our tree, and now she puts a start(western style). The bow & ribbon is something I've started on my own in our family.

What are your three favorite websites?
Facebook.
PhotoBucket
YouTube

On your man do you prefer… boxers, briefs or boxer briefs? Or commando? (yeah, I’m starting to get desperate for questions!)
Boxers or Boxer Breifs....mostly boxer breifs. :)

What do you see your life like in 10 years?
I hope that I am almost done with my education. I plan to have my NP or CRNA. I hope Bruce is exactly where he wants to be career wise with the Army. I'm sure we will be living wherever the Army needs us. It's not exactly easy to predict 10yrs in advance when your married to the Army. Oh, no...I just realized that Kade will be 15 1/2 yrs old...that means we will be teaching him how to drive and he will have a permit. Oh jeeze!

What do you like most about your job?
I love knowing that when I leave I have accomplished something every single day. It may only be that I was an ear that heard my patients worries, a shoulder to cry on, or the one that ran fast enough to catch them before they fell. I'm surprised how much I enjoy working as a nurse in a nursing home. One reason I chose nursing is because I love school/learning and I learn something new every single day that I am at work.

What are three things you do every day, no matter what day it is?
Just Three??
-Check My Facebook.
-Check To See If I Have Any New Followers.
-Hug My Babies.

What would you do with an extra five hours in your day today?
Sleep! I love to sleep! I'm a night owl, so I have to talk myself into going to bed early enough to get the sleep I know I want so dearly.

What is your favorite Christmas (or whichever holiday  you celebrate) cookie recipe (please share!)?
I wish I had the recipe for the soft gingerbread cookies my step-grandma makes. They are delicious...she puts a cream cheese frosting on them too. Yum!! I didn't come from a cookie family. Our Christmas cookies usually come from pre-made dough. =)
See Last Years Cookies Here.

These are books I have not read, but would love to. Just the things I have seen from them, will make you step back and think again.

Day 18: Your views on gay marriage.

Day 19: What do you think of religion? Or what do you think of politics?
