2009 and The New Year

2009 is coming to an end and I have many things to be thankful for! Here are just a few...

1) Our new baby boy finally made his appearance! After 20 hours of labor and exactly 40 very long weeks Kyson Paul was born Dec 19, 2009 @ 5:25am weighing in at a whopping 9lbs 8oz and 21.5inches long!

2) I finished my first step of nursing school on June 11, 2009 and revieved my LPN license shortly after.

3) My dad found me on Myspace...and I met him for the first time in June, 2009.

4) After a 15 month deployment and an extra 7 months of nursing school, Kade and I got to FINALLY move back to Kansas to be with Bruce. We learned that time takes its toll and love is stronger than anything!

5) I am extremely thankful for whoever watched over my brother after a very scary dirt bike wreck this fall.

6) We completed another year of health!

I wish you all peace, love, joy, happiness and health in 2010!

Her Spunk Is Back!

Mona is back to normal!! And ruining my Christmas tree! She starts at the bottom of the stairs...runs up as fast as she can, then slides under the tree. I think she likes how the skirt slips on the wood floors.  As you can see, the skirt is flipped around backwards and bunched together....and the beads are hanging WAY lower than I put them.  But oh well...tis the season!

I made you a cookie.

While getting groceries, Kade and I decided that we wanted to make Chrsitmas sugar cookies to decorate. We went all out and bought the tube of Pillsbury Sugar cookie dough and Betty Crocker Cookie Icing sqeezable pouches in red, green, and white! So easy!  We even tried Christmas cookie cutters, but the dough spreads so much when it cooks, that they just looked like really odd shaped cookies. Here are some pictures of Kade and Bruce decorating them. Enjoy!

Kade had the icing all over his mouth...it surprisingly tastes really good!

Cat's In The Bag...or Rain Gutter.

We have a cat that we adopted the summer of  '07, named Mona. She has been by our sides through multiple moves during the past couple of years...five to be exact.  Don't get me wrong, I love her, but when my pregnancy hormones and mood swings kick in, its a different story.  I am so picky about our pets going into the babies room...mainly because of their hair. When animals shed, it grosses me out. The last place I want their hair is on the nice, clean, new baby stuff.  But anyways...back to Mona.  Somehow the door was left open to Kyson's room, and Mona found the ONE thing on the floor and pee'd on it!!! I FLIPPED OUT!!! I yelled downstairs to Bruce and told him to throw her outside before I get to her, or I was going to kill her! That was about a month ago...and the last time we saw her...until the other night.  I decided that going for a walk in the mini-blizzard we were having would be a good idea, and possibly put me into labor.  I made it one house down and heard a cat crying...looked across the street...and saw two glowing cat eyes glowing from rain gutter. It was Mona! But I couldn't get her out.  It was dark, the road slopped down into the gutter. I wasn't about to slip and fall, or stick my hand in a dark gutter! After getting Bruce, he had to remove the man-hole cover and get her out that way.  So needless to say, she is back and VERY cuddly. She is a little traumatized, and cries ALL THE TIME.  But hopefully she learned her lesson! Next time, I'll have to pretend I don't hear crying coming from the rain gutter.

Let It Snow...Let It Snow...Let It Snow!

We got about a foot of snow this past week. The perfect amount to enjoy because it will only last a few days! Here are a few pictures from our hillbilly sledding at Breakneck Lake on Fort Riley.

I said hillbilly sledding because we used a pool mattress as our sled.

I learned that climbing out of a waist deep snow drift at 38wks pregnant is not exactly the easiest thing to do. Its especially not easy when your holding up a camera and a 4yr old. I handed those two off to Bruce, and was stuck crawling out alone while we all laughed.

Bruce tried to jump over a snow drift and also sank. He then thought that a second try would work out better. He was wrong.

Even our dog, Goose, enjoyed the snow. Bruce made sure Goose has something warm to wear after we played.

Needless to say, Kade absolutely loved the snow. The last time he played in the snow it was also here at Ft. Riley, when he was about 15mo. old.

They grow SO fast!
