MilSpouse Friday Fill-In

What is the best gift you have ever received or given?
When I was a child, it was a trampoline. Santa put it together right in my backyard and left a big red bow on it.  My most recent Christmas gift was Kyson...born just 1 week before.

Do you celebrate holidays differently when your loved one is deployed/gone or do you keep tradition?
We always follow the same routine. Christmas morning at my moms in Oklahoma & Christmas afternoon and the next few days with my husbands side of the family in Arkansas. This year, however, may be different. Bruce is deployed and I have to work on Christmas(they gave me off until noon, but I wont get off until 11pm). I'm still not sure where and when everything is going to happen. I guess I should try to figure this one out...

If you celebrate Christmas, do you put an angel, star or something else on the top of your tree?
I put a big bow on top with matching ribbon flowing down the tree. I love it! My mom always put an angel on our tree, and now she puts a start(western style). The bow & ribbon is something I've started on my own in our family.

What are your three favorite websites?
Facebook.
PhotoBucket
YouTube

On your man do you prefer… boxers, briefs or boxer briefs? Or commando? (yeah, I’m starting to get desperate for questions!)
Boxers or Boxer Breifs....mostly boxer breifs. :)

30 Days of Truth (Day 05)

Photobucket

Day 5: Something you hope to do in your life.

I'll keep this one simple. I want to go to school until I cant anymore. I want to be the best Mom to my children that I can. I want the best marriage possible. I want a job that I love. A big one...I want health and happiness for all of my family and friends.

30 Days of Truth (Day 04)

Photobucket

Day 4: Something you have to forgive someone for.

I didn't meet my real Dad until I was 23. My Mom had me when she was twenty. Neither my Mom or my real Dad were ready for me...but of course, my Mom sorta had no choice because she was the one carrying me.  I know more so now that over the years of my childhood he had tried to contact my Mom about me. My Dad (that raised me since I was 2) made sure there would be no contact. I understand that he thought that he had no rights to have contact with me. If he wanted those right he would have been there from day 1. My real Dad pretty much quit trying to contact me until...

He Found me on MySpace! He sent me an email and it took me a minute to realize who "Jon" was. I didn't hesitate to write back. I called him soon after. We called/text-ed for a few months. I actually "met" him for the first time the day before I graduated from nursing school. We continue keep in contact with each other.

So... I forgive him. I cant say that I never had a Dad, because I did. Wade raised me, and for that I am thankful. My mom had no hard feelings about it....so I never heard a bad word. I am just happy that now I have my "real" Dad.  And hey...now I know where a lot of my characteristics come from!

30 Days of Truth (Day 02)

Day 2: Something you love about yourself.

I thought about this one for a while. I feel conceded verbalizing what I love about myself. But after some thought...

I love that I continue to push myself to make my dreams come true. I've learned over the past year that I cannot plan my whole life, though I would like to. I have learned that life is much less stressful if I allow things to fall into place on their own. Yet, I still strive to make the best of every situation. I love that despite all of the "Don't get married yet, your so young." and the "Your Pregnant? Didn't you just get married." stop me from being a young Army Wife, young Mom, a full-time student (now a nurse), and a sometimes single Mom (due to deployments). I love that I choose to get an early start and to not let any of that stop me from full-filling ALL of my dreams and those to come. What are your dreams in life?

The Versatile Blogger Award

I had such a busy weekend at work. For those of you that so not know, I work 32 hours on the weekend at a nursing home...(and get paid for 40hrs!). This allows me to be at home with my two boys Mon-Fri to home school Kade and experience all of Kyson's milestones. This weekend was a little different. I stayed the night at work, which means I SLEPT IN A NURSING HOME! This is something I never thought I would have to do...at least until  was at least 100 years old. Ha-Ha. Needless to say, I was exhausted when my weekend ended.  But what better way to start the new week, than with a Blog Award!?! A big THANK YOU to Rachel @ Flying High: Life of an Air Force Wife who has awarded me with The Versatile Blogger Award. Rachel is a a military spouse and SAHM of a toddler.  Be sure to visit her blog!

Here are the rules:
1. Thank and link back to who gave you the award.
 2. Share 7 things about yourself.
3. Pass it along to 7 blogs you've recently discovered and enjoy
4. Leave your recipients a note, telling them about the award.

1- I am someone who stresses way way way to much. I tend to love control, so when I start to realize I'm loosing that control over things I get anxious. I like to tell myself I'm am just a good leader!

2- I recently dyed my hair red! Now, granted I am a natural strawberry blonde, I have not seen that color since I was in high school. I love being a blonde...and I thought the more blonde, the better. Until this whole "red hair" idea popped into my head. So one night I decided I would just go for it and dye my own hair...and leave big blonde chunks. AND WHY I DID MY OWN HAIR YOU ASK?!?...I have no idea. Especially with the fact that my mother-in-law does hair as well as one of my very good friends.  Needless to say, my once very blonde hair turned orange. So I had to have it "fixed". Now I have multiple shades of red (light to bright). I'm not sure if its "me" yet, or not.

3- I love to work. If I wasn't a mother, I would live at work as a nurse. I am still very surprised at how satisfied I am with the career I chose.

4- I think that I sub-consciously like moving so much. Every time we move/PCS, I get to buy new thinsgt o match the new home.

5- I HATE judgmental people. I never really understand why it is anyone else's business what someone else does/says...as long as you aren't harming yourself or anyone else...I believe we should do what ever floats our boats.

6- I met my Dad when I was 23. We talk all the time now. Now I realize that I wasn't the "different" sibling....I just take after my Dad. And now I understand my where my passion for music comes from.

7- I am absolutely in love with my husband and two sons. I am very proud of myself and my outcome thus far. I like to believe that I make wise decisions in life....yet I am always wondering how I could do things better. I think that all falls back into my "control" issue.

Because I recently got back into blogging, I have discovered a ton of great blogs. So this is not exactly easy, but...

Under Attack!!

I'm curious...why do they call these annoying little things June Bugs? It's only April!!! They won't get away from my doors. Earlier, one snuck in and I stepped on it. CRUNCH! They grab on to anything they touch. I reached into a bag at my moms house the other day and one decided it would take a ride on the tip of my finger. I'm about to declare war!!

I'm what?!?!

Nurse: Take off your shoes and socks...this scale will tell us your body fat percentage.

Me: Oh jeeze, this is gunna be scary.

Nurse: How tall are you?

Me:5'7"

Nurse: Your body fat percentage is 39.6%.

Me: Whoa! I'm like 11% away from being 1/2 fat!

And that's the beginning of my weight loss journey. The doc came in and explained the pills I will be taking. He suggested taking 1/2 of the pill for 3 days until I adjust to the irritability, insomnia, and headaches. I decided to take 1/2 this afternoon at 4:15 just to see how I feel...Well it's 11:00pm and I'm nowhere near tired. Uh-oh. But no headaches or irritability....so far.

The injections are ordered, so I'll start them on Wednesday. I've heard mixed opinions on how the injections feel. It's a tiny needle, but some say it still hurts. The doc says the least painfull injection site is around the bellybutton. Surely I can give myself the injections. I'm a nurse...I give shots all the time, but never to myself. If I decide I can't give them to myself, I work with 7 other nurses that probably wouldn't mind doing it. I forgot to mention, 4 of those nurses are also doing this hcg plan too. On the weekends I can have my mom do it. She has given livestock injections, so surely she can do me too right? Lol.

A Little Insane

At least once a day(probably way more) I feel like I'm going insane...
There are way to many contributing factors;
-single mom
-11wk old
-4yr old
-single WORKING mom
-judgemental people
-keeping those people happy
-fear of trust
-fear of dishonesty
-divorce
-……

I just felt like venting that a little...I'll leave it at that. And by the way, this may turn into my negative nancy blog. LOL.
